How It Works
Labels.io is disrupting traditional recruitment methods, based on the idea that finding a person to hire, or a job to work for, should be easy.

Over the past ten years online job sites have become cluttered with millions of pages dedicated to text-heavy resumes, meaningless bullet lists, twenty-minute application forms and impersonalized job entries. So how are you supposed to fill or find a job in a reasonable amount of time when the tools that are provided are oversaturated and outdated? Well, we started by fixing the tools and simplifying the process. At Labels.io, professionals create brief profiles (see an example) and tag them with key attributes that are searchable by employers and matched in real time to jobs. That's it!

Now let's get started...

For Professionals

Whether you're an active job seeker or somebody who likes to stay informed about potential job opportunities, a Labels.io profile will serve you well. Follow these simple steps to activate your profile and Labels.io will handle the rest:

 Create a profile

A Labels.io profile is a brief and catchy summary of your professional identity that will help employers find and match you to suitable jobs. You'll find help at every step and enough examples to make sure you won't spend more than a few minutes filling it. We encourage you to personalize your profile by uploading a photo and linking it to your social networks.

Once created, your professional profile can be freely accessed at

 Mind your Labels Weight

The Labels Weight is the dressed up output of the internal algorithm we're using on Labels.io to rank professionals when all other things are relatively equal (e.g. when there are several profiles matching a very specific search query). The algorithm attempts to determine your online social authority by measuring the impact of your professionally relevant contributions to the social web.

For now the Labels Weight is measuring input from the following sources:

1. Your Twitter activity
2. Your Facebook activity
3. Your Labels.io profile's internal metrics (e.g. number of unique visitors)

When we add new sources or make changes to the algorithm, we usually announce it here, on the Labels Weight help page and, if you really want to be first to find out about it, on Twitter.

 No more applying to jobs

On Labels.io you DON’T apply to jobs, that's our job (pun intended) So how does it work then?

As soon as an employer posts a job, its requirements (skills, years of experience, etc.) are matched in real time against our database of professional profiles, resulting in a highly accurate short-list of potential candidates. If you've properly filled out your profile, your name will be on these short-lists (provided there's a demand for your skills). This process eliminates the need for you to constantly apply to jobs and the stress that comes with not getting any feedback from employers.

NOTE: Once your profile is matched to a job posting, it is up to the individual employer(s) to contact you regarding an interview, next steps, etc.
    For Employers

Recruiting? Here's how you can start screening candidates in less than five minutes:

Familiarize yourself with the search engine

Looking for a PMP certified Project Manager with Java and Ajax experience?
The query “Java, ajax, project management, PMP” will return all of them.

 The Visual Search

The visual search allows you to fine-tune your candidate selection and get inspiration when you're not quite sure who you’re looking for. Take the above example: you could start by searching for "Java", but then add complementary skills or attributes (e.g. "Active job seeker") from the professionals' profiles until you've found the perfect match - a bit similar to browsing a supermarket's shelves, comparing ingredients, and adding stuff to your basket until you have everything you need to make the perfect lasagna.

Go ahead and post a job

Use the suggestions provided when adding skills to ensure you're using the same labels as the professionals. As soon as you post the job requirements (skills, level of experience, etc.) you get a customizable short-list of candidates who are the best matches for your opening. A nifty slider allows you to control the number of skills to match candidates to, so you can accurately find whom you want and what type of skills they require.

 Job postings vs. search

If you've used the site for a while you might be wondering why to post a job instead of manually searching for candidates, as the latter seems to do the trick, right?

Well, it depends on the level of accuracy you’re in need of. When posting a job you get access to advanced search options that can help you better define the professional (years of experience, willingness to relocate or travel, etc.) You also get to use a different and brilliant (or so we like to think) matching algorithm that factors in a variety of things (e.g. level of experience per skill, professional authority) to make sure you get the accuracy you're after. And if that wasn’t enough, you also become privy to our nifty management interface.

Now, if you get stuck at any point don't be shy to use the feedback form and ask for help or drop us a line at
